Residential Lawn Care Program
Your lawn is the first thing people see when they visit your home ... but making a great first impression can be tricky business. A lot of homeowners are overwhelmed by contradicting information from well-meaning neighbors, or they simply don't have time to give their lawns the proper level of care and attention.
We can help.
Our residential lawn care program will have your lawn looking its best. Timely fertilization and weed control will set the stage for beautiful color and overall health.
With more than 20 years of experience in the Fort Wayne area, Vision Scapes offers an exceptional lawn care program that ensures weed-free growth in the spring, thick and deeply-colored grass in the summer, and a strong, healthy root system in the fall.
With Indiana state-licensed and certified staff on hand, we use only the greenest, highest-quality products on your lawn.
Our six-step fertilization process
Step 1 (Spring) – We apply a well-balanced granular fertilizer to enrich soil and help grass plants start actively growing.
Step 2 (Late Spring) – We apply a slow-release granular fertilizer to promote color and continued health of your grass. This fertilizer provides the desired nutrients needed to thrive in the heat of summer. We also apply a Pre- Emergent crabgrass control and a broadleaf weed control at this time.
Step 3 (Summer) – We apply a slow-release granular fertilizer to promote color and thickness. We also apply a broadleaf weed control to eliminate any weeds that may have popped up.
Step 4 (Mid-Summer) – We apply a slow-release granular fertilizer to ensure optimal nutrition for your grass. We apply another broadleaf weed control to eliminate any actively growing weeds.
Step 5 (Early Fall) – We apply a slow-release granular fertilizer to promote health and recovery of the grass plants from summer stress. We apply a final broadleaf weed control to maintain control of weeds and to promote a weed-free lawn the following spring.
Step 6 (Late Fall/Winterization) – We apply a well-balanced granular fertilizer to promote a stronger and healthier root system. This application prepares your lawn for the harsh winter conditions and promotes a deep green lawn the following spring.
Insecticide & Grub Control
Grubs live and feed in soil. It's easy to miss them at first, but as they begin to cut the roots out from under your lawn, brown patches will begin to appear.
If you suspect grubs, try to pull back a small section of turf. If the lawn pulls up easily like new sod, that's a clue that you have grubs. Then, once you look underneath, you'll be able to see white grubs in the top inch or so of soil.
If you discover grubs early enough in the year, we can apply a preventive treatment. When damage appears in the fall, a fast-acting curative treatment is best.
Perimeter Pest Control
We can help you keep unwanted pests outside of your home. Our perimeter pest control program creates a barrier to which will keep your home free of:
- Boxelder bugs
- Many other unwanted pests
Seeding can help increase the density of your lawn, which in turn helps create a natural defense against insects, weeds and crabgrass. Seeding cultivates soil and promotes uniform seed-to-soil contact, ultimately improving the overall health and appearance of your lawn.
Power core aeration is one of the most important cultural practices available for your lawn. Aeration helps control thatch, improves soil structure, helps create growth pockets for new roots, and opens the way for water and fertilizer to reach the root zone of your lawn. Annual or semi-annual aeration is advised for all lawns on heavy clay soils, those with a thatch buildup, and any lawn that needs to be "thickened up."
